Keep in mind that people don't buy for logical reasons, all purchases are made for emotional reasons and then justified, afterwards. Since we all buy from strangers online, there are concerns about whether or not your business can be trusted with their money, and of course they want to know if other people have been satisfied with your product or service. So testimonials are powerful and help build some kind of trust where there was none before. Bottom line is your conversion rates will be higher when your visitors trust you and your products. Another approach is to find expert testimonials from experts in your niche/product that you're able to use. Another common mistake made by copywriters is that they don't have a proper call to action for their sales letter. What is your sales copy trying to make happen? It's a no-brainer that it exists to create sales and revenue. People need the call to action because they need to be told what to do in all sales copy. Make no mistake about it, your prospects always need to be told what to do next. Usually it's at the bottom of your copy, so merely tell them what it is you want from them. If you want them to click through to order, then say: "Order Now." It's a must that you say it in the fewest number of words. Don't forget to test different types of call to action messages to improve your conversion ratio. It does take time and effort to become a good copywriter, but you can almost instantly become better if you just avoid making the kinds of mistakes that you've just read about.
