Have you ever reached over and picked up the telephone only to feel a pain around your elbow, on your outer arm? If you have, it may be to your benefit to take notice now, and prevent it from developing into something further. If you let it develop, you could be looking at wasting hundreds of dollars or even worse, years of your life, just trying to recover! So what ailment am I referring to? Believe it or not, it is tennis elbow. I can hear you now. "I don't play tennis or any other racket sport, so it can't be it." Tennis elbow is just a name, as a matter of fact, the number of cases of tennis elbow represented by actual tennis players is around 5%. Most people who suffer from this condition are between the ages of 35 and 55. You may have no idea how you developed this condition, but it is best to nip it in the bud. If you ignore the early symptoms, it will only get worse. The more severe it becomes, the longer it will take for you to recover. Tennis elbow does not come on quickly. At first you might think you just worked your arm a little too much the day before. Your muscles in your forearm will feel a little tight, and you may feel like your elbow has a bruise on it, just a little more sensitive to pressure. This is the time to see a doctor! As time passes, you may not be able reach out and pick something up. Even just reaching your arm out will be met with pain. Don't think that you are feeling those little aches and pains of aging. If you think you may have tennis elbow, you may want to talk to your health practioner so you can prevent this from becoming a major health concern.
