They are worn mainly to get people's attention, which is a great way to make new friends. The next type of t shirt is topical humor t shirts. These t shirts usually have jokes on them that relate to a recent story in the news, a joke out of a TV show or out of a film. It's hard to give an example for these, as they go out of fashion pretty quickly, so may be irrelevant and not funny at the time you are reading this! People wear these because they are genuinely really funny. Usually the quotes will be mocking someone or something in the recent news, or it could be a funny, memorable quote from a film. These t shirts will spark conversation from other fans of the news story or film! The final type of t shirt is the offensive t shirt. These are t shirts that have offensive slogans or catchphrases on, that if you saw someone walking down the street wearing one, that it would be likely they would get some abuse for wearing that t shirt. These t shirts are worn with the sole purpose of offending people, and looking like a complete douche bag, pretty simple really. So there you have it, a brief guide of what different kinds of funny t shirts there are, and why people would wear them.
