Often times, shady sellers will put crucial information in very small print. They will fail to point out serious mechanical defects or special terms of the sale. Be sure that you read every line of text and all areas of small print. Ask for a vehicle history report as this will protect you from title problems or any other prior damage to the vehicle. Purchasing your rat rod should be a good experience, so be sure to contact the seller and ask any questions you feel necessary. If the seller is unwilling to answer, then move on. The second thing you need to do is call your insurance company. You need to find out how much money it will cost to insure your rat rod or classic car. You do not want to spend your hard earned money buying a rat rod only to find out you will not be able to afford the insurance. Not only that, but many insurance companies offer special plans for classic cars. So just be sure to ask around and make sure that getting proper coverage will not be an issue. The final thing you must do is decide on a delivery plan. Moving cars from one state to another can be expensive. If you do not have an extra budget for transportation cost then only search for cars that are close enough for you to go pick up. You can find many rat rods on eBay motors that you can drive to and take home in a trailer.
