You may remember in our last issue we covered the concept of communal workspace. While working in a room with like minds is without more effeciant than renting an office, we know there are readers that would rather work from home. James Fronteir, a young entrepenuer recognized that back in 2007 while searching for a job. He was blogging at the time, mostly for fun, when he was contacted by a competing blog asking him to write for their website. The turned the offer down for obvious reasons and for the not obvious ones. The idea came to him ... a network that would connect people who like to write and the companies who need writers. His plan is to go major city by city until and eventually, country by country. His first city, Orlando. While he admits the $4.95 initial registration will turn some off from signing up, James feels that it'll weed out the really interested writers from the lookers which will help maintain the quality of the network. He used craigslist as an example when a network of this type is free and open. You end up with a website that ends up looking very similar to a spam email box.
