Sun Country Airlines Resurrected and Stronger Than Before

If you compared Sun Country Airlines to other similar carriers, you would see distinctive qualities that would set it apart. Decades ago a large airline company had to cease operations, and it is from that even that Sun Country arose. The events that happened in September of 2001 appeared to be the final straw with Sun Country, and they had to stop flying a few months later. But that would not be the end of this company as they were brought back to life with the help of investors. Yet, the long and difficult journey is not over as they are presently in bankruptcy reorganization that began in late 2010. Yet the dream of the company that first started flying in 1982 is still alive. The airline did not have enough people to do everything when they first opened for business, and many employees were doing multiple jobs. Yet they were all experienced airline people; having been working for Braniff Airlines prior to Sun Country. Even the pilots and flight attendants pitched in and did multiple jobs. That should come as no surprise at all since they had to get things done no matter what. But all of that effort paid off as they were making money and in the black within sixty days. Braniff Airlines collapsed in the early 80s, and a core group of employees decided to form Sun Country Airlines in 1982. What happened was they convinced investors from the Minneapolis Minnesota area to help them get their fledgling airline started. Back in the early days, the only place they flew to was Nevada, to Las Vegas. There are always people wanting to get away to Las Vegas, and their business deal with travel agents allowed them to fly people to that destination. That was a basic plan and profitable approach because they became profitable in less than two months. December 2009, Sun Country gave a real treat to almost 100 kids with a fairy tale flight to the North Pole. So it is no surprise they named it: A Flight To The North Pole. The airline worked in association with The United Way to help put this together. The goal was simply to give the youngsters a truly one of a kind and unique Christmas holiday experience. It was all make believe, but for about 30 minutes they taxied the kids around and told them all about a flight to the North Pole. Sun Country Airlines is of course considered a smaller operator along the lines of a regional. Although they are a popular hot spot carrier when it comes to flights to places like the Caribbean Islands or Mexico among others. The company was originally started by people who worked for Braniff airlines. Sun Country Airlines was born shortly after Braniff went out of business. The original concept was to provide the highest quality of customer experience as possible.
